Craft Potters Association Course Providers

Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced potter, there will be a course out there for you. Have a look at the exciting and broad range of courses our Selected and Fellow members run below.
Choosing a course
Most pottery courses are part time – you can choose from weekend introductions to courses that run over several weeks.
Beginner’s courses can cover a range of skills including hand building where you can use coils or slabs of clay to create your work or have a go at the potter’s wheel. You will learn how to decorate and glaze your work. Some courses are specific to one technique – you may want to focus on the wheel and learn how to make cups, bowls and plates.
If you already have some pottery skills you may want to sign up for a more advanced course to develop, refine your work and try new techniques such as mould making and slip casting.
If you are interested in taking a longer course and developing a career in ceramics then look at the External Course Providers page for a list of colleges and institutions offer courses ranging from those without accreditation through to BA, MA and Phd level study.
